Clinical Chemistry - Chloride
The Randox Chloride assay is used to detect electrolyte imbalances of chloride within the blood for the diagnosis of certain conditions.
Hypochloremia is an electrolyte imbalance caused as a result of low levels of chloride in the blood. Hypochloremia is usually caused as a result of kidney problems but it can also be attributed to chronic lung diseases such as emphysema, metabolic alkalosis or congestive heart failure.
